Austin, Texas (October 27, 2010) – The Austin Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators is pleased to announce that their President, James Cornell, will participate in the Special Olympics-Texas Over the Edge event.
On November 2, James will join other Over the Edge adrenaline-junkies in rappelling 15 stories down the Stephen F. Austin InterContinental Hotel.
Each participant has agreed to raise a minimum of $1,000 for Special Olympics Texas. James has added an incentive for his would-be donors, promising to wear a t-shirt chosen by his biggest contributor as he rappels. According to recent reports, this could mean the bleeding-orange University of Texas graduate will be wearing an Oklahoma University Sooners t-shirt during his decent.
“Austin ALA has long been involved in the community with non-profit groups, and volunteerism is particularly special to me. So when Danelle Awtrey with the Stephen F. Austin InterContinental Hotel asked me to go over the edge for Special Olympics I was absolutely thrilled to be a part of this organization and unique event. I am looking forward to the rappel, even if it means I will be wearing an OU t-shirt.”
