2003 Community Challenge Weekend

The Austin-Central Texas Chapter's "Community Challenge Weekend" event benefitting the Austin Children's Shelter.

Our Community Challenge Weekend event with the Austin Children's Shelter held on Sunday, October 26, was a complete success thanks to the efforts of many members of the Austin Chapter. First of all, thanks to Community Relations committee members, Bonnie Zook, Kelly Barker, Sandy Gable and Ellen Gross for their time and effort in planning this event. Special thanks to Bonnie, Kelly, Sandy, Ellen, Edna Diaz, Carol Arnold, Barbara Anderson-Carr and Martha Olsen for taking time out of a Sunday afternoon to spend time with three Austin Children's Shelter staff members and twelve wonderful children.

The children enjoyed eating pizza, and playing games and each child left with prizes and a homemade decorative pillow. A special thank-you to Theresa in Bonnie's office for making the pillows by hand for each child.

Also, our Chapter members personally gave a total of $300 which will be used to purchase supplies for the ACS pre-school aged children. Thanks again to all who participated in any way to make this event a success and fun!
